Post Re: The old man is gone!
None of us have ever figured it out, and he's never told anyone.
It's a reference to himself, obviously, almost as if he is referring to himself in third person. But why he does it and where the term originated, none of us has any idea.

Well if he brings it over to Texas he will have no more heartaches. I will take care of HIM! He's on right now talking about riding his bike to Chicago. He does sound lonely sometimes but maybe he's not, maybe we are just overly protective lol.

Post to hi fi june
Has John's insomnia returned?
He seems to be on Twitter at 1 a.m. Pacific time/4 a.m. US east coast time, so, since I have the next three days off, I will try to get up in the middle of the night and see if I can catch him live.

Post minions
I should explain about my "minions" comment.
That tweet I sent John was a repeat, for want of a better term. I originally came up with the idea weeks ago and tweeted it to him but he never saw it. I decided to try again tonight, and this time he noticed!
I am very happy!
But the "minions" have nothing to do with the movie "Despicable Me." I never even heard of that movie until it was released a week ago. My "minions" are not the movie's "minions."
Does that make sense?

Mary

Post minions, again
At least a month ago I sent John the following goofy tweet:
"You call us twitterati. I say a better term for the loyal subjects of evil Emperor Shockozulu would be minions."
As far as I know, he never saw it.
Last night he was online at the same time I was, so I resent the message. He retweeted it.
But.....
In the meanwhile (a week ago), an animated film came out called "Despicable Me." The bad guy in the movie has little creatures who are called minions.
I wasn't thinking of the creatures when I resent my tweet, much less when I originally wrote it. I didn't realize until later that the word had a new pop culture reference now. I haven't seen the movie yet and have no idea if John has seen it.

Haha, John just unfollowed 30+ people and some are not happy about it. But let me tell you this much - it's nothing new, it's nothing personal. He did it before.

Those peeps need to get over it. He walks to the beat of his own drum!

Oh and man a week or so ago were you guys on when they played Better off Dead on TMC???? They had this 80's thing going on. I didn't think he was on so I was like gushing about him in the film and was doing some trivia about how that paper boy with the whole "I want my 2 dollars" was real. I swear a few minutes later John tweets. "I didn't know so many people watch TMC, who would'a knew.

Was funny as hell!!!!!!!!!

I watched Better Off Dead and Sixteen Candles, and got on Twitter after each movie was over. It was almost like there was an Internet party going on with his fans, because I noticed a lot of people were tweeting him and each other about the movies. It was fun to read! I also got the feeling that John hadn't expected THAT much attention.

I have the impression that he doesn`t want to be remembered too much about these movies, though  :giggle:
